What Happened During My Time Online Law School

I was not able to go to law school even though I really wanted to. Serious health issues like diabetes, arthritis and some complications prevented me from doing so. I am aware that law school requires a number of hours sitting in lecture, sleepless nights because of studying, and other activities that are stressful to the body.

I had basically given up on the idea of getting a legal degree when one of my friends told me about online law schools.

I had never really heard of an online law school before, and was naturally curious. Was an online legal degree really legitimate, or was it just the way to take advantage of people like me who can’t get a law degree through the usual means.

What I found out surprised me. There are many successful lawyers out there who trained through an online law school. It definitely was a way for me to make my dream happen.

From the moment I got into it, I knew that getting an online law degree would be difficult. You see, and online law school is a mixed bag. On the one hand, you get to set your own hours and work around your own schedule. On the other hand, you have to be extremely self disciplined.

You have professors on you to meet your deadlines al the time with more typical course of legal study. Nevertheless, with an online law school you are the only one responsible for your work, and there is no one else. Although it might be a little less demanding, it requires a ton of heart to fulfill it.

One of the things I was worried about with online law schools was getting a hold of all the legal information that I would need. I knew that law school reports were intensive, and required access to reams and reams of case file history. Most law schools have their own libraries with that sort of information, but I had no idea how I would access it at a law school online. I need not have worried.

There are plenty of legal resources for lawyers who operate over the Internet. There are legal document databases, sophisticated search engines for professionals, and other proprietary and public access source of information. It cost a little bit of money, but not anymore than say, a textbook or school supplies. All in all, it proved to be a very workable proposition. In a few years, I had graduated from the online law school and was on my way to becoming an attorney.
